How We Get Work from You

We live in a busy and digital age! Most of our clients prefer to send us documents via email and consult with us by telephone. In many instances, this is advantageous and speeds your workflow; it's particularly effective for editing and writing tasks.

How We Charge For Our Services

Hourly
Most of our services, especially editorial ones, are charged on a per-hour basis. Our minimum charge is for 30 minutes; thereafter, tasks are billed in 15-minute increments. "Rush" jobs that require significant evening or weekend work are welcome but are subject to a 10-25% surcharge. The first 15 minutes of telephone or personal consultation on any job is free; thereafter, further discussions incur a $40 per hour fee, billed in 15-minute increments.

Per Project
Many services are best handled on a per-project basis. The initial request for a quote is free. Once the scope and price of the project is agreed upon, all segments of the job remain part of the contract fee. Further consultations incur a $40 per hour fee, billed in 15-minute increments.

Any direct job costs that are not part of our normal service (such as rush delivery services via FedEx, for example) will incur a cost plus 10% fee to cover administrative costs.

Should travel be required, expenses will be agreed upon in our contract; the client will cover reasonable travel costs, such as coach travel, moderate hotel expenses, moderate meal costs, transportation to and from airports, and other customary travel-related expenses.

How We Are Paid For Our Services

Monthly Invoiced Accounts
Upon approval, you will be billed monthly, payable within 15 days. Payment may be made by company check, money order, or credit card.

Per-Project Invoiced Accounts
Upon completion of the project, you will be billed, payable within 15 days. Payment may be made by company check, money order, or credit card.

Pay-As-You-Go
Upon completion of the project, your credit card will be billed, and we will send you a statement of payment for your records.

Percentage Of Completion
Many jobs, such as business process review, project management, and consulting contracts, will be billed in increments agreed upon beforehand. Such contracts are generally billed a certain percentage at measurable landmarks, with the balance due within 15 days of contract completion.

In all cases, the client is responsible for any expenses stemming from refused charges or checks returned for insufficient funds, including collection or legal fees, if applicable. In addition, delinquent bills incur a 1.5% monthly service charge until paid. Use of our services implies acceptance of these terms.

Confidentiality And Privacy

Midtown Business Services agrees not to disclose to any third party the content of proprietary or confidential material submitted and so identified by our clients. We take your trust very seriously.

We never sell our client lists, email lists, or telephone lists.
